mc nova japan tour!!!

Recently Nova mc from Indonesia returned from her tour of Japan with Filistine, i just saw a vid of a performance in Koenji, its fucken cool.. but i also found a video of them performing at HEAVY SICK, which is this fucking amazing, cool underground club in Nakano. They have all the breakcore/noisy/interesting bands play there all the time, when i lived in nakano i would go there heaps, its got an amazing scene and support, if you ever go to japan i reccomend it.....the vid from Heavy Sick is only 40 seconds + its at the BOTTOM of this post. the vid right here just under these words is from koenji, check it out and hear Nova's incredible vocals....




Nova was in australia earlier this year, we put on a film night that she curated, cuz she also works for Engage Media.
Nova is a a really incredible rapper and vocalist, as well a totally inspiring artist and activist.

nova: "it was Sapporo (2 gigs) - Tokyo - Kyoto - Osaka - Kitakyushu - Tokyo......basically the idea was collaborate with him in his Japan tour.....everything felt so great.....maybe because we met great people......i met some anarchists as well....we joined the mayday in Tokyo with them...we stayed in their infoshop"

TELEPATHE!

Sometimes, really rarely, you see some a performer or a group who make really amazing beautiful, haunting music!! and then when you go to their myspace, or listen to their discs 3 days later, it brings back the good memories!! right? well, last week in Berlin, I saw Telepathe.

Two girls with keyboards, a drum machine and a couple of live drums. Simple beats and epic catchy hooks. Really powerful, and minimal, and last week at Picknick, full of BASS.

Telepathe make me wanna get really good at what I do. (whatever it is that I do)
Telepathe are from New York, but they are not ironic!!

if you dont know, BOON runs a label called Toilet World. it is made up of one off pieces for girlz/boyz/aliens/goblins etc. Each garment is hand painted with a absolutely NUTS design. A fun thing i have found i like doing with the clothes is grabbing something and saying "BOON, what is this" and they will say, "oh that an octopus stabbing a deformed moose mule in the butt, except his butt is his face."
and im like...
"ooooh.....um. cool!!!!!!"
yeah so Boons label is fkn wicked. practically sold out on the night, and the art was amazing!!!!

. i believe they will have another exhibition soon at Discobeans.. . . .

and she is telling me this story, and the best bits are......she was paris and all the shops she was shopping in, karl lagerfield was in, and he was wearing his ponytail and dark sunnies,

it was really cool cuz everyone else was just doing boring ass fashion show runway bullshit and we were asked to model and we were like,....um we wanna do something INTERESTING.
it went realllly well and we totally blew the crowd away cuz we were so colourful and crazy and shit.
