BYEBYE GOOEY ON THE INSIDE

RIP GOOEY ON THE INSIDE 2007- 2010.
Gooey On the Inside was an amazing scene, and an incredible moment in time of art and music but it is time to for us close the curtains on this.

We have both moved onto new exciting projects.
Keep in touch with us if you want.... and THANKYOU!!!!
we are keeping this blog up for historical purposes. please browse it thoroughly to find all the cool wack shit we did XXXXXXXXXXXX

Q: What is Gooey on The Inside?
A: Gooey on the Inside was an underground art, music and event organisation curated by Kati Cubby and Holly Fluxx that successfully hosted over 40 separate events (from 2007-2010).

Our events included art exhibitions, live music performances, dance parties, artist markets, workshops, skill shares, contemporary dance performances, writings, theatre performances, fundraisers, live video streams, panel discussions and fashion shows, as well as a combination of many of these simultaneously.

Highlights of Gooey On the Inside include:
- A live music and art event in Berlin, Germany (The Slumber Party)
- A live music and art event in Santiago, Chile (La Cunt Rave)
- A well received music showcase compilation cd (Hit Machine XXIVIVX), featuring Gooey on the Inside artists from Indonesia, Japan, Chile, USA, UK, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, and across Australia.
- An invitation to speak at This Is Not Art Festival 2008 on "How to start a scene from scratch"
- Producing our own specialist radio programs for 3CR and SYN fm
- Over 40 successful dynamic and diverse events spanning the course of three years
- Featured in an interview and full page spread in UK magazine "Super Super" as well as local Australian zines

Focusing on young people who identified as women, trans, queer, and people of colour, we strived to create space, agency, audience, support and a thriving, dynamic environment and build a community for our artists.

We have now moved on to other projects, but can be contacted via email:
katicubby@gmail.com and shotflux@gmail.com

thanks so much
love kati and holly!

'V' - totalz babe crusty sparkel photographer and mega art maker!!!:

'I've photographed heaps of girls, but only 3 guys have ever answered the ad. One of them ended up being my muse, Hans, and the other two guys were freaks.'

V is so underground that you can't even google her. Cos her name is just one letter !!! 23 year old Berlin photographer, party starter and derelict chic, V is fluoro-grungey and totally cool.
Originally from Brisbane, Australia, V only meant to come to Berlin for one week. But she found herself entirely at home in the hot and bombed out streets of Berlin, where it's super easy to be poor and fabulous. Why would she ever leave?
V picks up bottles for the deposit money, and sells stuff she finds on the streets at Mauer Park markets (right next to the old Berlin Wall). Wearing a leather jacket with a slime green 'V' tagged on the back, and toting a Vivienne Westwood tartan bag, V photographs a rotating cast of sparkle-crust Berliners (no, not the donuts, the babes!!), on location and at her own studio, Studio V. And in the loft bar of one of Berlin's longest running squatted artist spaces Tacheles, V throws Thursday night parties with weird acts, heaps of graffiti on the walls and super cheap cocktails.
V also photographs bands, does vintage fashion shoots and holds open-call portrait sessions, via the website Craigslist. 'I've photographed heaps of girls, but only 3 guys have ever answered the ad. One of them ended up being my muse, Hans, and the other two guys were freaks. One was a fitness buff, he wanted me to take photos with his bike and then invited me back to the fitness centre under his house, and the other guy brought in a big hunk of salami to be photographed with. That guy also showed this naked video of himself on youtube.'
V makes dark synth-wave too, and because of her dirty blonde hair and super catchy grunge hooks, we're tentatively calling V this generation's Kurt Cobain. Listen to her music here:
www.myspace.com/vlovescats
and check out her parties here:

raver manifesto

just stumbled into this..... enjoy!! haha

A RAVER'S MANIFESTO
(author unknown)
Our emotional state of choice is Ecstasy. Our nourishment of choice is Love. Our addiction of choice is technology. Our religion of choice is music. Our currency of choice is knowledge. Our politics of choice is none. Our society of choice is utopian though we know it will never be.You may hate us. You may dismiss us. You may misunderstand us. You may be unaware of our existence. We can only hope you do not care to judge us, because we would never judge you.

We are not criminals. We are not disillusioned. We are not drug addicts. We are not naive children. We are one massive, global, tribal village that transcends man-made law, physical geography, and time itself. We are The Massive. One Massive. We were first drawn by the sound. From far away, the thunderous, muffled, echoing beat was comparable to a mother's heart soothing a child in her womb of concrete, steel, and electrical wiring. We were drawn back into this womb, and there, in the heat, dampness, and darkness of it, we came to accept that we are all the same. We came to accept that we are all equal. Not only to the darkness, and to ourselves, but to the very music slamming into us and passing through our souls: we are all equal. And somewhere around 35Hz we could feel the hand of God at our backs, pushing us forward, pushing us to push ourselves to strengthen our minds, our bodies, and our spirits. Pushing us to turn to the person beside us to join hands and uplift them by sharing the uncontrollable joy we felt from creating this magical bubble that can, for one evening, protect us from the horrors, atrocities, and pollution of the outside world. It is in that very instant, with these very realizations that each of was truly born.

We continue to pack our bodies into clubs, or warehouses, or buildings you've abandoned and left for naught, and we bring life to them for one night. Strong, throbbing, vibrant life in it's purest, most intense, most hedonistic form.In these makeshift spaces, we seek to shed ourselves of the burden of uncertainty for a future you have been unable to stabilize and secure for us. We seek to relinquish our inhibitions, and free ourselves from the shackles and restraints you've put on us for your own peace of mind. We seek to re-write the programming that you have tried to indoctrinate us with since the moment we were born. Programming that tells us to hate, that tells us to judge, that tells us to stuff ourselves into the nearest and most convenient pigeon hole possible. Programming that even tells us to climb ladders for you, jump through hoops, and run through mazes and on hamster wheels. Programming that tells us to eat from the shiny silver spoon you are trying to feed us with, instead of nourish ourselves with our own capable hands. Programming that tells us to close our minds, instead of open them.

Until the sun rises to burn our eyes by revealing the distopian reality of the world you've created for us, we dance fiercely with our brothers and sisters in celebration of our life, of our culture, and of the values we believe in: Peace, Love, Freedom, Tolerance, Unity, Harmony, Expression, Responsibility and Respect. Our enemy of choice is ignorance. Our weapon of choice is information. Our crime of choice is breaking and challenging whatever laws you feel you need to put in place to stop us from celebrating our existence. But know that while you may shut down any given party, on any given night, in any given city, in any given country or continent on this beautiful planet, you can never shut down the entire party. You don't have access to that switch, no matter what you may think. The music will never stop. The heartbeat will never fade. The party will never end. I am a raver, and this is my manifesto.

shut up dumb haters

i just read this on Melbourne street Fashion.......
they have a section where there is street fashion pics, and everyone leaves comments......
anyway, there was some bitchy shit and i just really liked the shut down... it is bitchy aswell hahaha but fair enough man and there are somethings in it that i think are good points that i have made bold, check it out....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CazzoNelCulo - 01-06-09
you lot are so diplomatic! she and those clothes are terrible! some people don't have the physical make up to pull of the style of a fashionista, she's certainly not one of them!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

weegee - 04-06-09
as if you know anything cazzonelculo. seriously, some of you people who comment should go crawl into that hole you came out of and die.
a fashionista isn't about what your body is like!!!
.
yay if you are a size zero and can wear the latest mark fast knit. but any small size person could do that and it doesn't make them a fashionista.
Fashionista and style are different, but they are both about a individual perspective. THAT IS FASHION. THAT IS ART.
Lagerfield has Beth Ditto as his latest muse and Gaultier and Galliano have both used plus sized models as muses. Beth Ditto was also on the cover of Love, ID, Nylon + more. Crystal Renn is AMAZING. Johanna Drey modelled for Galliano. and look at Velvet D'Amour.
Cazzonelculo you are utterly inane to say that being of a certain physical make up can make or break you as a fashionista. YOU MUST KNOW NOTHING ABOUT FASHION.
Even though your picture isn't on here cazzonelculo that girl is a fashionista and you are just some lame try hard you comes online and pays people out. nice to know that you hold yourself in the high esteem that I bet the rest of the world doesn't, and I definitely don't.
I hope Kia reads this and takes it all in her stride.
Oh, and I think she looks great and that is a great outfit.

trife parlour crew are cool

http://trifeparlour.blogspot.com/

heres what happend.
i went to this hiphop night thing 'Awwww Shit', at this bar in fitzroy. from the write up it seemed like a really cool thing, just like some djs, and heaps of couches and pizzas for only 7 bucks. one of the djs was gonna be raceless (from curse ov dialect) so i went and dragged along my friends.
once we got there, i realised it wasnt really the the right thing for my mates...after about an hour 4 friends left. leaving me with only 3 friends.

anyway, after raceless dj'd a solid set of nearly all public enemy songs, i didnt know who was gonna dj or how long i wanted i stay.

THEN

suddenly i saw this really bright blue skirt over on the dancefloor. and me and my friends where like WHO is THAT. everyone in melbourne is so afraid of colour in there clothes.....and we looked over, and there was suddenly all these cool girls on the dancefloor who were all REALLY GOOD DANCERS!!! and we were like....omg.....

now for ppl reading this who are like pffft who cares about this story, who cares about some girls wearing colourful clothes doing really good dancing at a hiphop night......well...im sorry but you clearly dont go out in melbourne very much. cuz this was a very special event.
me and my friends sat on our couch behind the curtain for 15 mins just watching them before we got the courage to go to couches closer to the dancefloor. eventually my three mates got up and started dancing, but i went back to my couch and ate a pizza.

THEN
all of a sudden, the music suddenly went from weird obscure crap music to TOTALLY BANGING SHIT and everyone was dancing and i looked up and the cool girls where Djing!!!!!
holy shit!!! they were so cool and they kept yelling cool shit into the mic between songs, so amazing.
so
this is them, the trife parlour crew. i texted my friend straight away who put on the night and was like "who are the girl djs" and he texted me back there names and i kind of internet stalked them and stumbled across there blog, and its really really amazing, they are a crew of really strong women who are ALL artists in there own right and total individuals.

i have been following the blog and its really good and really funny!!! lots of pro women, supportive stuff. and there is a really good line somewhere in there, along the lines of "yeah, i fucked usher, but only cuz his 6 pack was soooo fine" hahahaha! amazing.

and there has been all these DUMB CUNTS giving them shit for being supportive + biased towards projects and art made by people of colour, and the girls have written really amazing smart and funny stuff shutting all the dumb racist cunts down.

anyway. go see them dj, they are 100% cool bitches.

hay that guy JOHN KILDUFF aka 'mr LEt's PAINT TV'

is selling THE LAST KNOWN DRAWING OF MICHAEL JACKSON, he says, 'This drawing of Michael Jackson with his two kids could be the last drawing ever made before his sudden passing this past week. I did this quick drawing of Michael Jackson with his two kids and bouncer after seeing them at the Beverly Hills Affaire in the Gardens. I had an art booth there and he and the kids walked by my booth. It was a a very strange moment..as it was almost a calm in the sea as he walked by. People where falling all over themselves to get a good look or photo of him and his kids. MJ had on a black veil and a black umbrella and the kids had opera masks that there where holding over there faces...and they had this security guard that looked like an Israeli Commando. I made this drawing when I got home. Auction starts at $1 dollar and there's no reserve! Good luck bidding on this strange piece of history....MJ and Kilduff AKA Mr Let's Paint' you can buy it HERE, its currently at US $2.94 and the auction ends in 19 hours!!!

DON’T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT BEING COOL

this was written by STEPHEN PIETRZYKOWSKI........i read it in platform magazine.

DON’T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT BEING COOL

Cool people are not cool. They are self-conscious pricks with connections who dont give a shit about anyone. You are better because you like your friends, call your mum and dad at least once a week, and don’t cry yourself to sleep every night because your whole life is a hole of impersonal text messages, guestlists and half empty double beds in winter. Don’t be a Bret Easton Ellis novel, just read one instead and have an opinion that matters.

He cant read my pokerface ;P

so, we all know Lady Gaga. i been reading all her interviews while im sitting around at work, and she is really really artistically resolved and clear, and creatively directs everything with her name on it, eg her style, her video clips, all art, writes all her songs, etc etc .
but!! recently Kt Spit showed me this video, and its so amazing!!! Lady Gaga performing her Pokerface song in an acoustic cabaret style, absolutely AWESOME!!
seriously.
and, i also watched an interview with her, where she explains the meaning of the song pokerface "he cant read my pokerface/i'll be bluffin with my muffin" etc
the song is about having sex with her boyfriend, and being bored and thinking about a girl!!!
hahahahha

mc nova japan tour!!!

Recently Nova mc from Indonesia returned from her tour of Japan with Filistine, i just saw a vid of a performance in Koenji, its fucken cool.. but i also found a video of them performing at HEAVY SICK, which is this fucking amazing, cool underground club in Nakano. They have all the breakcore/noisy/interesting bands play there all the time, when i lived in nakano i would go there heaps, its got an amazing scene and support, if you ever go to japan i reccomend it.....the vid from Heavy Sick is only 40 seconds + its at the BOTTOM of this post. the vid right here just under these words is from koenji, check it out and hear Nova's incredible vocals....

Nova was in australia earlier this year, we put on a film night that she curated, cuz she also works for Engage Media.
Nova is a a really incredible rapper and vocalist, as well a totally inspiring artist and activist.
http://www.myspace.com/novatwinsista

i chatted to her online and she gave me this info on the tour....

nova: "it was Sapporo (2 gigs) - Tokyo - Kyoto - Osaka - Kitakyushu - Tokyo......basically the idea was collaborate with him in his Japan tour.....everything felt so great.....maybe because we met great people......i met some anarchists as well....we joined the mayday in Tokyo with them...we stayed in their infoshop"

this is the myspace of the guy she toured with.
http://www.myspace.com/filastine

This is what he said on his blog about touring with Nova.....
"Jakarta and Barcelona could be the two most distant points one could find on the globe, so it’s not a very logical collaboration, but then there aren’t many women rappers who can also sing in bahasa and come from a DIY/activist perspective."
http://filastine.com/log/2009/04/28/japan-is-not-inscrutable/
